  1. Students will be able to define a problem, employing a number of management tools.

Programme content The course provides an introduction to the principles of problem based learning (PBL), in particular the tools and techniques used to identify and solve problems as part of students' project work. It also embraces the topics of team building, communication in groups and with stakeholders as well as elements of project management.

Course content 1. the principles of PBL (eg. 7-step cycle, learning goals, CCCS approach) 2. the theory of teams: team definition, stages of team development, team roles, etc. 3. problem definition and management tools (eg. 6W, PEST, 5 Whys, affinity diagram, Ishikawa diagram, SWOT analysis) 4. stakeholder analysis 5. communication in teams: managing team meetings and group discussions, reporting results, meeting minutes and logbooks, pecha kucha presentations
